have you heard of MTU? it’s a subsidiary of Rolls Royce, based in Germany (but also operate in turtle island). a quick review of the MTU Solutions website will reveal they manufacture diesel engines for many unfavorable purposes: oil/gas extraction, mining vehicles, yachts, and perhaps most notably– military use.
MTU engines power 80% of the Israeli naval boats, as well as their Merkava tanks and armored personnel carriers. additionally, Rolls Royce components make possible the F-35 warplanes that carry out the genocidal airstrikes on Gaza.
“what better way to remember Tort than to leave caltrops and wall/window messages for a MTU engine technician training center?”, we thought.
and did.

revenge for Tortuguita
make every war profiteer afraid
ps-
there is so much more to do.
some of the aforementioned engines are made in so-called Michigan.

With love and rage a vigil for Tortuguita
Wentworth Park, 100 N Grand Ave, Lansing
Thursday 1/18 7:30pm
It’s been 1 year since forest defender Manuel Esteban Paez Teran (Tortuguita) was murdered by ATL police as they sat in their tent, legs crossed, hands up…
Join us in holding space for our fallen comrade, while connecting with others to learn about solidarity efforts taking place in Michigan.
Dress warmly and bring something for the altar. #stopcopcity
“If the cops kill me I want you to riot
Burn down their stations and set their cars alight
Know that I went out fighting and wish we all
Could just have peace and be free
…
We cannot have peace until this empire falls. Even then, peace takes work and freedom is a constant struggle. If the cops kill me I want you to riot, to kill as many of them as you can.” – Tort’s diary p. 121
Tortuguita lived and died fighting for the dispossessed, the wild, and the feral; against the world of empire, prisons, and police. It was a true warrior who made the forest its home, devoted their life to the struggle, and was willing to die a revolutionary death rather than be captured. We invite all those who knew Tort, and all who were impacted by its life from afar, to take the anniversary of their death as an opportunity to reflect on our own commitments and deepen our resolve, so that we might invigorate and intensify our conflictuality.
Rather than retreat into the bounds of comfort and safety, let us allow our memory of Tort to remind us of what it means to truly act in accordance with our values, and to challenge ourselves to follow through. We are rendered harmless only when we allow our fear of the enemy to eclipse our desires to defend the land and reduce this capitalist hellworld to ashes. Remember that the mechanisms of subjugation and control encroach all around us. Wherever you are, you need not venture far to find the veins of industry; go out and sever them.
We need not be concerned with optics and media portrayals. We have no interest in seeking validation, recognition, or understanding from the same media outlets — agents of the society we wish to destroy — that deadname and misgender Tortuguita and relentlessly whitewash its life as one of nonviolence and passivity. Additionally, to contort our actions to render them acceptable to the general public is to inevitably dull them to the point of irrelevance. To work only within the confines of the existent is to disarm ourselves completely. As anarchists, we are able to speak to each other in a language all our own. When we redecorate walls, shatter windows, and set fires, we speak to each other in ways that the media and the general public need not understand; we become beautiful. When we refuse legibility, when we refuse sympathy and demands, we refuse cooptation, we refuse recuperation, and we seek out life.

here in so-called southeast Michigan, it was too freakin hot on the night of the 4th so we decided to take to the streets for mischief, and what did we find but a Chase Bank with plenty of good-sized windows and atms!
we decided to redecorate. we glued the ATMs shut and spray-painted the windows, and used acid-etch paint to write messages of resistance like DROP COP CITY and VIVA TORTUGUITA!
we think that your stupid bank looks MUCH better now. down with beige minimalism! up with the spirit of resistance!
it was the best fourth of july we’ve ever spent.
chase, if you don’t drop the Cop City project, we will rain down more destruction upon you and your buildings.
death to america!
death to banks everywhere!
STOP COP CITY!

last saturday, a crowd of 100 people gathered in front of the merrill lynch office building to share memories, tears, and vengence for tortuguita. the crowd was a militant throng, mostly in black from head to toe. the march took state street and then paraded behind a porsche dealership, which funds the atlanta police foundation. the crowd riotously engaged in expressions of grief, including spray painting fancy cars and slashing the tires of 40+ cars waiting to be sold. signs were left behind at porsche and merrill lynch stating “cop city will never be built” and “you fund police murder”. no arrests were made.
people discussed the cop city project, and how direct action can locally be taken to stop it. stopreevesyoung.com was discussed as a resource listing the companies (and the people who run them) who profit off of the murder of tortuguita. stopapf.noblogs.org lists the companies who fund this murder and desire to fund more police killings of us and our loved ones.
we love you tort, and we will never stop fighting for the world you believe in.

From so-called Novi, MI:
On the Night of Rage (January 20) the Detroit MI Atlas offices were artfully decorated with acid-etching paint. Hope you had fun discovering that your windows are totally fucked, you shitheads. Atlas, until you stop supporting Cop City, there will be no safe corner for you on Turtle Island.
We did this in Tortuguita’s name. We love you, friend, and will never stop fighting. Love and rage to all those fighting in Atlanta.
