Vandals Destroy Michigan Golf Course, Over $75,000 in Damage

THIS IS A REPOST: We do not know who the culprits are or what compelled their actions; whether it were personal, political, or inspired by boredom. What we do know is that golf courses are not popular among those fighting Camp Grayling, and that they are popular among society’s beaurocrats who meet on the green to decide their paths to power and to plan the domination of the earth and its peoples.

This act inspired me and I hope it inspires you!

Bye bye Camp Grayling, Bye bye Golf Course Dystopia!!!

Lake Doster Golf Club has been struck with a vandalism crisis once again, but this time it will cost tens of thousands of dollars to fix.
The Michigan golf club has been dealing with desecrators from marker posts jammed into the greens and destroyed signs, but nothing to the extent of what happened last weekend.
The Plainwell course alleges that someone drove all over two of its greens, likely with an ATV. The tire tracks ripped through holes six and seven and will require lots of money to repair the damage.
“The pictures that you have seen don’t even come close to the damage that you can actually see on the golf course,” Matt Townsley, Lake Doster Golf Club’s head golf professional, told FOX 17. “You’re talking three to four-inch treads every two feet on our greens, so I mean…there’s nothing left, so you’re better off putting out of a ditch on the side of the road than you are being able to putt on our greens right now.”
The course will likely be forced to use temporary greens for the 2023 season and will probably need to completely tear the greens apart and resod them.

4,000 Mink Liberated from Scholten Farm

scholten farm and feed supply, at 260 139th ave in wayland michigan, recently woke up to the jubilation of 4,000 mink getting their first taste of freedom. scholten farms has concrete walls surrounding their mink prisons, but 4 ramps were built (with their own materials) and lots of mink treats were laid along the ramps to entice mink out of the enclosure. the mink killing machine was located and destroyed. the pvc water pipes that connect to each shed were dislodged and destroyed. to ensure this place closes, all 10 vehicles (including farm equipment) on property were sabotaged, by putting bleach, water, and sand in gas tanks and oil reservoirs. free all prisoners and give the land back.

Fascist Propaganda Removed From Riverside Park in Ypsilanti

"Antifa Area" sticker on a wooden post

Everyone’s least favorite fascist boy scout LARPers, Patriot Front, made another sad attempt at “activism” by littering Riverside Park in Ypsilanti with their low-quality propaganda. It was swiftly dealt with by the community and the area was decorated with antifascist stickers as a bonus.

For more info on this group, we encourage people to see reporting such as this Unicorn Riot coverage of leaked chats exposing the group’s inner workings. In fact, for those so inclined you can read the chats for yourself (warning: very racist), and even (using a VPN!) download the 400GB of leaked files. You never know who you might recognize in the photos!

One has to wonder how long it will be until they realize that buying shitty stickers from their Dear Leader and meeting “activism” quotas by putting them up means they’re in a dorky fascist-aesthetic ponzi scheme?

Reed City Supports Trans Student Against Far-Right and Bigots at School Board Meeting

I would like to thank everyone that showed up at the Reed City School Board meeting on Monday, November Seventh. This was the first time that the voices of support in the room outnumbered the voices of hatred and ignorance. The trans student who has been facing the majority of this backlash told me how much it meant to her and other LGBTQI+ kids at Reed City. Although I tend to have little faith in bureaucracy, the fact that the School Board is adamant in defending these students rights and has not backtracked yet is promising, as is the fact that many of those that typically speak out against the trans students yielded their time due to the sheer amount of people there to support these kids. The bigot running for school board did not win, much to the relief of many of us. I cannot properly express how grateful I am not just to the students of Reed City who are brave enough to face this, but to all who made sure these kids know they are not alone. Reminders of what solidarity means, what it looks like, is what motivates me, and many others, to continue forward with hope.

Secondly, I would like to reiterate a point that I had made in my speech on Monday. I know here in the Midwest it is a popular saying to “Bloom where you are planted”, but nobody owes hostile soil their flowers. It is understandable, and justified, that many of us decide to leave, to dig up our roots and move to more hospitable grounds. However, what the LGBTQI+ children at Reed City, what leftists in Right Wing dominated areas starting Mutual Aid Groups and organizing Direct Actions, are doing has immense importance. It is far from easy to stay and toil, to break down environments and cut off cycles of fear, hatred, and greed. This work though is what ensures that when others arrive, when they are planted, they will find a kinder place to grow.

I know for those of us paying attention that looking at our broken system, our broken world, and knowing that every horrible thing, every injustice, is related feels overwhelming. It is easy to look at the totality of oppression and become despondent. Learning Right Wing candidates won School Board Seats en masse – for example, all four of 1776 Project PAC candidates in Bradywine, MI won their elections and are bent on “turning schools conservative” – can be enough to lessen celebrations of wins like what has happened in Reed City. It is nothing short of exhausting, knowing that part of bringing down the patriarchy is fighting fascists showing up at School Board meetings; knowing that true environmentalism means abolition of police and military; knowing the fight against imperialism is the same as the fight for workers rights. It is easy to fall into apathy, knowing that the work is so far from being over, that more graves will be filled and more blood will be shed. However, the hope that comes from all oppression being woven together is that pulling a single thread helps unravel the entire tapestry.

Change does not come from being educated on every terrible thing happening in the world, every injustice enacted by corrupt and broken systems. It does not come from burning ourselves out trying to be involved in every call to action, or drowning ourselves in essays, news stories, and knowing all the right vocabulary. Change starts when all of us begin pulling threads within our reach. When we look after and build up our local communities. When we take care of our neighbors and our loved ones. When we show up when a child asks for support, or are carrying the weight of progress by themselves. When we can pay attention to who is running for small local elections, and show up to School Board meetings. When we fight back against the military taking and abusing land in our own state, in our own backyard.

We cannot continue to pass burdens on to our children and future generations, to allow them to fight alone. We cannot allow hatred to be the loudest voice in the room. We can not give in to hopelessness and apathy. The garden begins with us.

all mink (800) released from pipkorn farm: a delayed response to the farmer’s open letter from 1999

sorry it took us so long to respond (we weren’t born yet). to remind you (https://www.naiaonline.org/articles/article/an-open-letter-to-our-neighbors-from-pipkorn-mink-ranch), this is what was published after the elf freed 5,000 mink from your killing chambers in northern michigan. the midwest is home to many who torture and murder mink.

A caged mink looks at the camera, about to be freed
we like what you’ve done with the place: several new fences and a camera on your barn.  these were easily circumvented without the airplanes you suspected from last time, with just a leisurely stroll around back, bolt cutters for the barbed wire, and wire cutters for the chicken wire fence. we also saw how many empty abandoned sheds there were, seems like you were already on your way out.
in this letter, you refered to the mink as “defenseless”, which you would know after analy electrocuting them year after year after year with no remorse. we saw how enlived and energized they were runnning in the field for the first time and believe that giving them a chance at life is better than the certain death they face at your hands. we also wonder whether the community will be so eager to help you after it was confirmed that the mink you held in close quarters developed and spread a specific mutation of covid in your commmunity in 2020. what is being a good neighbor? ruthlessly caging and slaughtering so many beautiful creatures every year? adding considerably to climate and ecological disaster?
all just so rich people can have a new fancy fit?

your wealth is not worth more than one life and certainly not the hundreds of thousands you’ve murdered to date. we came to your farm to free the ones we could (and indeed uncaged every last one), but also to shut you down so the killing stops now. we will make good on this promise, with a little faster response time.
